500 PRO AC CORE adds AC-coupled retrofit storage to an existing PV system. A compatible Smart Meter measures surplus and consumption; each main unit provides 5 kWh nominal capacity (4.8 kWh usable), 2,400 W grid-connected AC power and 2,400 W backup power. A qualified installer must plan the installation and electrical protection to suit the system.

B500 adds another 5 kWh to a compatible 500 or 500 PRO system. More capacity does not automatically increase output power.

500 PRO AC CORE adds AC-coupled storage to your existing photovoltaic system. A working inverter can generally remain part of the system. If exported surplus receives little or no payment, you can store that energy for your own later use. Capacity and system architecture can be expanded modularly as your needs grow.

Our recommendation
One main unit is often enough to start.
For small to medium capacities, we initially prioritise a simple configuration. If you need more power later, you can expand to two or three main units.
Multiple main units
When capacity and power grow together.
Additional B500 batteries increase storage capacity. With technically approved system linking, further main units can also provide additional MPPT channels and power reserves.
Up to 7,500 W PV input power
Three main units provide up to twelve MPPT channels in total and can track different panel orientations independently.
Up to 7.2 kW theoretical system power
Each additional main unit increases the technically available power reserve by up to 2.4 kW, depending on approval and electrical design.
More reserve for your home
Multiple main units provide additional power and backup reserves for larger loads and more demanding energy systems.

Why does the 500 series start at 5 kWh?
More storage capacity provides reserves for evenings, nights, backup power and later expansion. The right size depends on your consumption and energy source.
A larger battery, less strain
A larger battery does not have to work as hard. With 5 kWh capacity, the strain on the cells in everyday use remains extremely low. This means less heat generation and minimal wear. The result is over 10,000 charge cycles, designed for up to 30 years of use (at one charge cycle per day).
Substantial reserves for emergencies
What use is a backup power system if the battery runs out after an hour? The additional 3 kWh compared with conventional systems give you enough energy to run a fridge, router and essential appliances for hours or even days.
Ready for dynamic electricity tariffs
Dynamic electricity tariffs are the future. Charge the large battery at night when electricity is cheap, and use it when prices rise. Your battery becomes an investment that pays for itself sooner, even on days without sunshine.

Dynamic MPPT load distribution can automatically balance unused power between the inputs. This allows the maximum PV input power of 2,500 W to be used even when individual panels deliver less power.

Which option suits my home?
SunEnergyXT 500 is the starter option with direct PV connection and up to 800 W grid feed-in. 500 PRO offers direct PV connection and up to 2,400 W grid feed-in. 500 PRO AC CORE is an AC-coupled retrofit storage system for existing PV systems, grid charging and backup power. All three product lines start with 5 kWh nominal capacity and offer up to 2,400 W at the backup output.
What exactly is SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC CORE?
SunEnergyXT 500 PRO AC CORE is an AC-coupled retrofit storage system for existing PV installations. The system offers 5 kWh nominal capacity (4.8 kWh usable), 2,400 W grid-connected AC power and 2,400 W backup power. Direct DC-PV/MPPT operation is possible only after confirmed approval. AC installation is carried out by a qualified installation company.
What are the requirements for AC CORE?
AC coupling, the grid connection, the protection design and the Smart Meter must suit the existing installation. The manufacturer lists Shelly 3EM, Shelly Pro 3EM, EcoTracker and bitShake as compatible energy meters. Planning and installation are carried out by a qualified installation company.
How do the Smart Meter and SunEnergyXT app work together?
The SunEnergyXT App shows PV input, battery status, grid feed-in and household consumption. It supports firmware updates, zero export and control of UPS mode. A local interface with Home Assistant integration is planned for advanced smart home systems.
Why choose 500 PRO rather than 500?
Choose 500 PRO if you need up to 2,400 W grid feed-in rather than up to 800 W, or plan for higher household loads. The backup output is not a distinguishing feature: both SunEnergyXT 500 and 500 PRO offer up to 2,400 W backup power. The specific combination of capacity, PV and consumption should be checked.
Are an electric car, heat pump and installation included?
No. These requirements affect planning but are not automatically included with a product. For complex systems, we recommend getting advice before buying.
When do I need a qualified electrician or advice?
For AC coupling, Smart Meter, electrical protection, grid connection, electric car or heat pump requirements, have the specific design checked by a qualified professional before buying.
How far can 500 PRO AC CORE be expanded?
One main unit starts at 5 kWh. Up to 30 kWh is specified per tower. According to the manufacturer, a system can be planned up to 90 kWh using up to three main units, each with suitable expansion batteries. Multiple main units increase available power as well as capacity; connection and distribution require technical planning.
Can I keep using my existing PV system and inverter?
AC CORE is intended for AC-coupled retrofits of existing PV systems. A working inverter can generally remain part of the existing system. Compatibility between the Smart Meter, grid connection, electrical protection and control must be checked for your specific system before buying.
Is direct PV expansion at a later date already guaranteed?
No. Future use or activation of additional PV functions depends on firmware, manufacturer approval, certification and the technical requirements of your installation. This is therefore presented as a possible future option, not an unconditionally available feature.
